Q&A with Ben Kenfield

Where did you go to college and what did you major in?

I started at the University of Portland studying Biology as a pre-med student, transferred to Portland State University, then finished my bachelor’s degree at Oregon Institute of Technology in Business Operations Management. Originally, I wanted to be a dentist, but I soon realized that this was not the career path for me. Full credit (sorry for the pun) to the colleges I attended for allowing me to explore different classes and degree paths to find what was right for me.

How has your degree helped you in your professional life?

My studies in marketing and sales management have fueled my passion and belief in the power of education. More than anything, I think my experiences in college helped me to be a more critical thinker. I want to know the “WHY” when things work, not just that they do. Understanding processes at a deeper level helps me to continually strive for even better results.

What is your favorite part of your job and the impact you make?

I love creating successful outcomes through teamwork. Seeing the real-world results of our work fills my tank and keeps me motivated.

Why are clients going to love working with you?

Clients will appreciate our partnership as I strive to drive tangible results for them. I’m not happy until they’re happy, and then I’m not happy until the good results turn great.

Favorite hobbies outside of work?

Hiking, kayaking, reading, gaming, home-brewing, playing the saxophone, watching pro soccer, and amateur astronomy. Most weekends are busy with a combination of these endeavors combined with renovating our house and landscaping.

Favorite movie?

The original Star Wars trilogy. I was born in the 70’s. Is there another answer?
