Are Standardized Tests on the Endangered List?
The pandemic cancellations of SAT and ACT test sessions have accelerated the trend of test-optional admissions a universities and colleges. Though brought on by necessity, there were already reasons for colleges to opt out of using standardized tests in evaluating potential students, including claims of bias in the tests. But did Covid-19 put the last nail in the coffin of admissions testing? Or is some form of testing here to stay? The answer seems hazy at this point, but let’s explore the issue.
